With a successful defense, and "three-peat" of her 3,200-meter state championship, Serena Tripodi brought to a close one of the most storied running careers in Georgia high school history. The final title was the ninth individual state championship for Tripodi, adding to the three cross country titles, and three state championships in the 1,600-meter run. Additionally, Tripodi led the Lions to two state titles each in cross country and track and field.
