Día de los Muertos

Upper School Spanish 5/6 students celebrated Day of the Dead on Wednesday, November 2, by creating an altar in the Upper School Foyer. Students learned about the elements of the altar, created decorations, and wrote paragraphs in Spanish to honor people in their lives who had passed away. The paragraphs are now on display in the first floor hallway of the Upper School.

A message written by one of the students to his grandfather is below.

Querido abuelo,

Dear Grandfather,

When you passed away last year, I did not know what I was going to do. I do not have the words to describe how much I need your presence in my life. I hope that one day I will see you again, but I do not know if it is possible. I know that Nana misses you, and I miss you too.

With Love,
