For two years, Lovett students in Mrs. Angela Mitchell's Spanish VI Honors class and Mrs. Conway Brackett have spent much of the year researching an area of evolving interest and ultimately presenting their big ideas in the form of short TED-style talks in both Spanish and English. Two of the talks from the 2015-16 school year garnered attention from the TED-Ed Team.
This December, TED-Ed is launching TED-Ed Weekends, a brand new series of special events designed to showcase and amplify the voices of the next generation of TED. TED-Ed Weekends will bring together student leaders from around the world for a chance to take over TED Headquarters in New York City on December 3, 2016. TED-Ed reviewed hundreds of TED-Ed Club Members' Talks and chose a select group of distinguished and passionate student speakers. Recent Lovett graduates Emma Quarterman '16 and Estee Park '16 were two of the students invited to present their TED-Ed Club talks live on the TED stage! Estee will travel with Mrs. Mitchell to present her talk, "The Real Goal: Leveling the Playing Field in Women's Soccer." Congratulations to both graduates on this honor and accomplishment!
