Guestbook
"Your
mountain home in the clouds is an inspiring place for anyone
who visits. I have several favorite things but I would just
like everyone to smell the woods and watch the clouds. Think
of how long these things have been in existence and how
quickly humans are destroying them."
- Caroline Jones
"There are
places that give opportunity to awaken resting spirits or are
able to stir into life those that have never been. Siempre
Verde provides laughter, contemplation, communion, earth,
plants, life and much more. It gives us our sense of
self."
- Jim Crowley
"I cannot
believe that it is already time to leave. I have had so much
fun. When I first got here, I thought that we would be
studying the whole time, but now that I have been here I know
that you learn while not knowing it as you hike the different
trails. This truly is the most beautiful place I have ever
been. You feel so relaxed up here. No pressure and no stress.
I hope to come back next year, and then I will probably have
more fun! This place is great!
- Reg Jones
"It's
going to be really hard to leave this place tomorrow. I cannot
remember a time when I have been so at peace with myself or
surrounded by such a heavenly landscape. If there is a
paradise on earth, Siempre Verde is it. Coming here has deeply
affected my perceptions of the world we live in. Particularly
moving was actually seeing slash and burn land clearing close
up. If Siempre Verde's purpose is to educate and convince
people of the necessity of saving the cloudforests, it has
fulfilled its mission in me.
- Ian Tate
"Siempre
Verde is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever
visited. Walking through the forest and living by candlelight
are true experiences that I will never forget. I have learned
more about myself in the past week that I have in my entire
life."
- Joe Palombi
"Siempre
Verde is 'Wicked Cool'!!! I can now comprehend the incredible
amounts of beauty and nature! I loved it. I'm very thankful
that I was able to experience such an awesome place. It made
me look at my life from a whole different angle. I'll never
forget those cool 'Southerners' from Lovett and the fun times
we had singing songs and just chillin'. Keep up the late night
chats and I hope ya'll remember this place for a real long
time."
-Lynne K.
"This has
been one of the most phenomenal experiences in my life. The
atmosphere was beautiful and it allowed me to go through every
day with a clear mind. This place should always remain so that
everyone can get the chance to experience this. This place was
not only peaceful, but also educational. Tomorrow is my 17th
birthday and I wish that I could spend the day here. Thank you
for everything.
- Ciara Mckinney
"The
crescent moon is high this morning as it arcs through a blue
cloud forest sky. The sound of small streams, above and below,
rings through the moving forest like an ancient amphitheater.
A crescendo of bird song rises and falls with a rhythm as
hidden as the birds themselves, who appear rarely- usually as
some motion in the corner of your eye, or as the lightly
swinging branch their feet touched in the endless search for
food. Cascades of living green seamless, the sounds of moving
water. The sun creeps slowly to the west. His child, light,
moves eastward toward the source as the world wakes up. Day
spills down the eastward ridge, the cascade almost upon us as
our shelter creeps slowly out of the shadows of night, in to
the crystal dewdrop morning. Tall trees, their leaves offered
up like prayers to the sky gods, wear long beards of lichen.
Their rich capes of flowering bromeliads catch the sun light
like so many emeralds, dancing in the sky on sweet canopy
breezes.
I sit in the
stone path, as it is still the only place in the sun, and look
down this valley to the ones below. The convergence- where a
soft tide of clouds rests between the soft shouldered ridges,
gathering the strength to rise and engulf us this afternoon in
tumbling waves of fog. It is as sure as the rise and fall of
the sea, the changing of the moons; it is the turn and return
of woman-setting the motion to the wheels of the world. Lying
on my back, I look up and see this world spinning through the
sky, always approaching the source. And far off, a dew-beaded
spider's web sways gently to the music of the wind. Many
thanks from a new friend."
